VialVerdict is independent and non-commercial

We do not currently earn affiliate commission on any outbound link on this site. Here is what that means and what may change later.

Today

VialVerdict does not earn an affiliate commission when you click a vendor link and complete a purchase. Outbound links land on the vendor's own product or homepage with no tracking parameters added and no commission flowing back to us. The site is currently funded by its founder out of pocket.

The reason is simple. During the first phase of the site, while review density is being built up, we want our reviews and rankings to be unambiguously independent. Affiliate commission is a known source of perceived bias in product reviews, and we would rather start without it.

What may change later

Once VialVerdict has a meaningful base of verified reviews (target: 100 verified buyer reviews or 1,000 unique daily visitors), we plan to apply for affiliate programs with the listed vendors. If and when that happens, three things will be true:

  • This page will be updated to disclose every active affiliate relationship and commission rate.
  • Outbound links will be tagged with rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", the FTC- and Google-compliant marker for monetized links.
  • The ranking algorithm and review data will not change. Vendors with no affiliate program will continue to be ranked the same way as vendors with a generous one. Commission rate is not, and will never be, an input to the algorithm.

How VialVerdict makes decisions

  • We do not boost a vendor's rating or hide negative reviews in exchange for any consideration, paid or otherwise.
  • We do not run sponsored editorial. Every "best of" or comparison page is generated from the same review data the public sees.
  • Editorial staff cannot accept gifts, free product, or payment from listed vendors. The conflict-of-interest policy is documented in our trust guidelines.

Questions or concerns?
